1. AFRICAN VOICES
Loud and clear
The voices of old
With all to bare
For characters untold

Shaping life's drama
Multiple choices
Seedlings to the farmer
Full Moon by Chike Onuorah
2. SPIRIT OF AFRICA
Toiling in the day
To rest in our night
Every one in their way
Keeping the light bright
In peaceful togetherness
Such harmony, our Eureka
The pursuit of happiness
In the spirit of Africa

ARTIST STATEMENT

FULL MOON - in the spirit of Africa, is the visual communication of the cultures of Africa through painting. It is a voyage into the uniqueness and eternal essence of her existence. The topics are diverse just like the styles of rendition. I hope that the experience of this exhibition, FULL MOON, would have been simplified in a way that an interactive dialogue is sparked off in the interest of appreciating the richness of the motherland, our great continent called Africa. Happy viewing. D'artist Chike Onuorah 2012

3. GRANDMA'S PARADISE
This is the place
Where I want to be
Where there's no race
But love flowing like the sea
In the safe arms of affection
More than any thing else
In the spotlight of attention
In my Grandma's paradise
Full Moon by Chike Onuorah
4. THE GOLDEN ONE
Turn your back to the world
The Gold fish has no hiding place
Run away or be cold
You will always leave a trace
Time is now to take control
And chart the course of the tide
For every mortals must enroll
In the school that stands with pride.

5. THE YELLOW SUN
My basket is full
Of joy and happiness
My heart is full
Of love and fruitfulness
Just like the full moon
On a playful summer night
Just like the yellow sun
With the rays ever so bright
Full Moon by Chike Onuorah
6. AFRICA IN MY SOUL
Africa the land of hope
Hope from times gone by
Africa the land of hope
Hope from times going by
Africa my land of hope
Hope from times coming by
I am African and always will be
Because in my soul is Africa
Africa in me will always be
Africa in my soul forever my Africa

Colors, beauty, tradition, poetry, mysteries, pure heart... Fullness of thought, fullness of emotions, fullness of talent!

Walk through, let "African voices" enchant you, "Incredible Mind" make you "Invincible"... Allow "Dripping melodies" of "Voices from within" convince you that it's a "Wonderful world"!

Just like "Thunderbolt" the "Spirit of Africa" will pierce "When the time comes" and the brick wall of our prejudices will dissolve into the "Sound of silence". The "Coronation Mask" is down, the "Eagle eye" of our ancestors scan through and "The prince of peace" is ushered in! "Dance festival", "The Royal Bard", "Dance of the maidens", "Innocence", "The Golden one", all in a perfect scenario... "Fresh vegetation" aims to greet you like "The yellow sun"...the morning of our soul revival, all in one collection!

Chike Onuorah... "The soul of a warrior"... "Unstoppable"...

7. DANCE FESTIVAL
Move to the drum beat
To the rhythm of our people

Like vapour from a boiling kettle
Prance to the drum beat
Dance festival of our people
Full Moon by Chike Onuorah
8. GREEN VEGETATION
The growth of a nation
Is determined by its people
The vegetation of a nation
Is nurtured by the people

To ensure make her growth bubble
For anyone with a vision
Will give the crops a drizzle

Full Moon by Chike Onuorah
9. INCREDIBLE MIND

To swim the river Nile
Leaving the troubles behind
To cover yet another mile
Full Moon by Chike Onuorah
10. THUNDERBOLT
Like the speed of light
In a fleeting flash
Slicing through a night
In a hundred metre dash Comprehension takes a flight
In rays of human delight
Appreciation awash
While the jubilation a bash

Full Moon by Chike Onuorah
11. FULL MOON
From our different homes
We see the full moon
Even when danger looms
We still leave our cocoon
Heading for the play ground To sing and dance to happy tunes
While fun and laughter joyfully sound
Beautiful images sway in endless bloom
Like sweet chatters of future brides
Each expecting her precious groom
Full Moon by Chike Onuorah
12. UNSTOPPABLE
I can be incredible
If I put my thoughts in it
I can be delectable
If I dress myself in it
I can be unbeatable
If I want to reach for it
I can be unstoppable
If I put my mind in it

Full Moon by Chike Onuorah
13. CORONATION MASK
Babies never ask
About the cereal in the flask
Yet they have a meal
And their satisfaction real
Mortals however ask
Of the mystery in the mask
That what is concealed
Will somehow be revealed
Full Moon by Chike Onuorah
14. INVINCIBLE
The mystery of the night
As confounding as the dawn
The history of delight
As intriguing as the scorn
Impossibility means nothing
In the land of the invincible
Incredibility, the only thing
In the land of the capable

Full Moon by Chike Onuorah
15. PURIFICATION
I'm ready to let the ocean
Wash over my soul
I'm ready to let creation
Take total control
For the voice of reason
Will forever triumph
Even when the season
Never defines the turf
Full Moon by Chike Onuorah
16. EAGLE EYE
Eyes on you
Where ever you go
Be holding you
Like never before
Round and round

Sense your ground
With an eagle eye

Full Moon by Chike Onuorah
17. SILENT NIGHT
The turbulent peace
The deafening quiet
The incredible truce
The invisible diet
The resilient fight
Of a thought so right
The empty fright
Of another the silent night
Full Moon by Chike Onuorah
18. TORNADO
With the force that rips apart
The toughest of soul
Like the stone that hit Goliat
Making him lose control
Here comes the tornado
Leaving many stories behind
Just as the aficionado
Leaving many tales on a mind

Full Moon by Chike Onuorah
19. DRIPPING MELODIES
If eyes can tell
All that is within
If words can tell
All that is within
If there is a trail
In the gripping melodies
One has to sail
In the dripping melodies
Full Moon by Chike Onuorah
20. WONDERFUL WORLD
Great thanks to creation
For this wonderful world of ours
Great thanks for the vision
Lofty heights we soar
Transcending all imagination
As guardians of these hours
Great thanks to creation
For this wonderful world of ours

Full Moon by Chike Onuorah
21. VOICES. FROM WITHIN
I hear the voices
The voices from within
I make choices
The choices to be seen
Despite the noises
From the world we are in
Still hold the aces
To your dreams therein.
Full Moon by Chike Onuorah
22. SELF CONTROL
I may not control
What is said about me
But I can control
How I will feel about me
For the world will talk
About the stars in the sky
But can hardly take a walk
Never ever up so high

Full Moon by Chike Onuorah
23. THE WOODEN COMB
Line of ages slipping by
Great tradition going numb
New challenges drawing nigh
Who will reach the honeycomb
Where's the smile for you and I
How can what we are succumb
As bamboo roots hold them so high
Our braids should trail the wooden comb
Full Moon by Chike Onuorah
24. PURE HEART
Like the tree beside still water
Forever fresh and green
Heal the world with a mind so tender
Forever fresh and clean
Fill it in and fill it up
Fill it till all can be sure
Fill me in and please don't stop
Fill me till my heart is pure

Full Moon by Chike Onuorah
25. INNOCENCE
Innocence is visible
To the one who knows
Patience incredible
To the one who blows
For how else can we discern
What has been concealed to the wise
For how else can we attain
The perfection so precise.
Full Moon by Chike Onuorah
26. FULL CREAM MILK
Love to have another drink
Nourishment a body needs
Just a gulp of full cream milk
From the maid that knows her deeds
Fresh from the farm a bowl of milk
Freshly from the cow that feeds
Love to have another drink
Nourishment the body needs

29. MOTHER Of A NATION
Mother of the nation
Shields the children when it pours
Helps them grow in love and devotion
Makes them strong for the lion's roars
For life is lived with sharp intuition
Great attainment in its oars.
Full Moon by Chike Onuorah
30. PACIFICATION
As the green grass
Protects the savanna ant
So does the green grass
Feed the savanna ant
For when the meal
Becomes the shield
Time will reveal
The man in the field
Replenish the earth
Now is time for pacification
Replenish the earth
For sustainable satisfaction

The loudest presence of nature

To the brave who battle
Hear the whispers from the dearest
A heart so feeble

From the craftsmen who chisel
And the devotion of nativity
The backbone so stable

Full Moon by Chike Onuorah
37. BEFORE THE COCK CROWS
There is a sparkle
From that eye that glows
But beware the trouble
From the mouth that flows
For a word could see a double
Before the cock crows
Yet again may triple
While the river flows
Full Moon by Chike Onuorah

You are the way
The truth and the life
There is nothing more to say
